UK Airport Traveling Tips
|
A vacation is supposed to be an escape from the stress of everyday life. But with all the new safety and packing regulations I might seem as though traveling is more of a hassle than a pleasurable experience. Now, not only do you have to worry about what to pack, you have to worry about how to pack? Is this in the right container? Does my luggage weigh too much? Will I be charged extra fees? Is my carry on oversized? Also with so many various transportation options, finding or choosing the cheapest or most convenient airport is a whole other issue. When traveling in, out, or around the UK there are at least nine major airports to choose from. Then after choosing which airport to fly out of you are faced with the stress of finding the best way of getting to the airport- should I go by car, train, tube, or taxi? With all this to think about, you might wonder how vacationing can be enjoyable anymore? Well vacation still can be enjoyable! Therefore, to make your travel experience easier and quicker, I would recommend doing the following when planning a trip: · Make sure to pack a couple days before and put all liquids in plastic bags. · Print airline itinerary a couple days before departure and make sure your selected your seat assignments. · Research places to park your car. Although main hubs such as Gatwick and Manchester airports can be packed and extremely busy, if you research well you can find safe and secure parking in advance. If you are looking for safe, convenient, and fairly priced places for Gatwick Airport parking or Heathrow Airport parking I would highly recommend searching online and comparing prices (Parking4Less is a great service). · The morning of our trip eat well, pack a snack and head off to the airport. Make sure to allow at least two hours to two and half hours to check in and get through security. · If you chose to drive, add an extra half hour to your travel time in order to find the parking facility, park, lock up and catch the shuttle to your terminal. a. Make sure to lock up your care, scan the facilities and remember where you parked just in case! · In the airport make sure to purchase water or any reading material that you might need for the flight. Don’t forget headphones to watch a movie (if provided). · Relax and enjoy your vacation. Lastly, make sure to prepare yourself when planning a trip and check to see if there are going to be any delays, if there are delays look into your connecting flights to make sure there is enough time to reach that next flight. If you are traveling close to a holiday expect even more travelers coming and going from the airport so give yourself another half an hour to an hour getting to and through the airport. I have found that if you prepare for a trip by following the tips from above, your trip will be more relaxing and enjoyable! About The Author: Gatwick parking & Heathrow Airport parking |
