Use Graduation Cupcakes

There are excellent occasions in which a cake adds to the event however you can also use alternatives like graduation cupcakes. The tradition of having a cake is certainly a great thing. The cake itself can add to the overall party and celebration decorations. The cake also gives everyone a chance to come together to join in celebration of the graduate’s achievements. The cake ceremony lets the graduate and family say a few words, make a wish and even sing to the graduate. The graduate can also take the chance to thank everyone for coming and for their gifts.

I think we all expect to see a wonderful cake. The cake decorations can be ornate or simple. Guests probably expect to see a simple well decorated cake with congratulations, perhaps a cap and scroll and also simple colors. Most families will think of making or buying just such a cake. However there is also another possibility which is graduation cupcakes. The cupcakes do not need to be an alternative to the graduation cake, they can compliment the cake in many ways.

I happen to love cupcakes. My Scots Gran called them fairy cakes and she made lots of them. Her home was very sociable with people visiting almost everyday. She made fairy cakes in lots of flavors to serve with tea to her guests. For her cupcakes were hugely social. They helped her feel like a perfect host and her friends looked forward to having a fairy cake with her. Now, cupcakes are hugely popular. There are cupcake stores, cupcakes in every coffee shop and mane books and online sites dedicated to cupcakes. Perhaps they are the perfect size for one person. Perhaps they look perfect with their frosting, toppings and different flavors. Perhaps they taste brilliant. I think their popularity comes from all these factors.

How can a graduation cupcake work so well. Well it could accompany the graduation cake or replace it. The display could be tiered with lots of complimentary cupcake frosting colors stacked up in a perfect pyramid. That way the photo opportunity with the graduate is just as good. There would not be a real cake cutting ceremony however the graduate could pose with a cake knife in the same way. Mostly though I think cupcakes will work very well as guests will love them. You can provide a large range of flavors like blueberry, strawberry, chocolate and lemon, for example. You can decorate them as if they were graduation caps. Each guest can get one to take home as a favor. They represent a great part of your dessert offering too.
