Once again, you can top your pipe bollards with lights or you could just top them with stainless steel caps. The stainless steel will resist rusting and corroding from continuous garden watering or from hosing off the patio, and to keep them looking nice you'll just need to hose them off occasionally and polish them about twice a year. During the holidays you could decorate your stainless steel pipe bollards with appropriately-colored ribbon, such as red and green for the Christmas holidays or red, white, and blue for the 4th of July. If you have a yard where children play often you will want your pipe bollards to have something on the top of the pipes so that there will not be sharp exposed edges. Lights, stainless steel caps, or caps made of wood or plastic will usually work fine.* Porch - You might wonder what reasons you could possibly have for using pipe bollards made of stainless steel on your porch. One good reason is that they make good light posts, especially for battery-powered lights. You could have one or two on either side of your porch steps, and you could top them with different colored lights, depending on the season or just depending on your mood.
