VW and VW Parts - A History of Serving the People

VW, the shortened term for Volkswagen, means “the people’s car” in German. And as the name implies, VW has been known throughout the entire world as a car manufacturer that produces affordable but reliable vehicles for the middle-class consumer. The German car company started producing cars in 1937 when Hitler’s regime was still in full power before the Second World War. As Germany was plunged into the worldwide conflict, VW was then used by the Nazi regime to produce vehicles used in the war effort. After Germany lost, VW continued to exist and improve with the help of Major Ivan Hirst, a British Army officer, and Heinrich Nordhoff, one of Opel’s officials at that time.

Hirst saved the fledging car company when Germany was in ruins and help it to continue producing cars. Although Hirst’s efforts were not in vain, VW’s success was still unattainable during the early 50s. Nordhoff entered the company and turned the German car maker into a serious player in the automobile industry. It was at this time VW introduced its Beetle model and the results placed VW at the top. The VW Beetle was sold in the United States and it was sold to a great number of American Consumers then. The VW Beetle became a fixture in most American homes even when the oil crisis struck the United States in the 70s. Along with Japanese-made cars, The VW Beetle was well used due to its fuel efficiency.

Today, VW is a recognized car manufacturer around the world as it utilizes German design and ingenuity in all of its vehicles. VW is the fourth largest car maker, lagging only behind General Motors, Ford and Toyota. Their current line-up of vehicles includes the modern version of the Beetle, the Touareg and the Golf, to name a few.

To maintain the legacy of the VW intact, VW parts are made to cater to VW users worldwide. VW parts offer a wide range of replacement and performance parts for any VW model. The quality and build of any VW model can be easily kept with the use of VW parts. Any addition of fake or inferior car parts to a VW model can only result to the further degradation and deterioration of the car. It is heavily advised to service VW models with genuine VW parts.
