The first item from your list of vacuum supplies that you will need to buy is a vacuum cleaner. There are many different styles of vacuum cleaners that you can choose from. There are hand vacs, stick vacs, wet/dry vacs, canister vacuums, and upright vacuum models. In addition to selecting a vacuum based on its design type you also need to decide on what type of filtration system you want your vacuum to have. There are bagged models, bagless models, and HEPA Filtration System models. Size, shape, and cost also need to play a part in your decision making process because they will impact what models will work for your situation. The second item from your list of vacuum supplies is vacuum bags. If you bought a bagless vacuum in the previous step then you don't have to worry about buying vacuum bags. All you have to do is empty the dirt collection cup, and occasionally wash the cup out. On the other hand if you bought a bagged vacuum model in the previous step then you will need to buy the right collection bag for your vacuum model. Again your owner's manual will tell you what style of dirt collection bag you will need to buy. The third item that you will need to buy occasionally is a vacuum filter. Vacuum filters come is a large variety of sizes, shapes, and functions. The most expensive filters to buy are HEPA filters. These filters can cost between $25 and $50 each. However, you don't have to change these filters that often. A regular vacuum filter will need to be changed once every three to six months depending on the amount the machine is used. Another type of filter that you may need to buy is a pre-motor filter. Some of the newer models have added a pre-motor filter to their filtration system. The fourth item that you will need to occasionally buy is a vacuum belt. Vacuum belt styles and position will vary by brand and model. To find the right belt to use on your model you will want to refer to your owner's manual. In some cases the back of the belt box will have a list of compatible models. The final items that you can buy for your vacuum are vacuum accessories. The type and variety of vacuum accessories that will work with your vacuum model will vary by brand and model.
