Asthmatic sufferers have to do battle with their asthma causers on an everyday basis. From the work to the car to the outdoors and even in the home, asthmatic sufferers have to fight off their respective asthma triggers. Asthmatic suffers have to fight off allergic attacks on a daily basis; however, with some tips and helpful hints can you enjoy your home without worrying. Vacuuming is done and can be done by anybody and most of the time the job is done the same way. The trick to vacuuming well is how smart the user goes about finding dust infested areas. Vacuuming hard wood floors, upholstered furniture, bedding, and curtains properly are what make a difference. Hardwood floors are almost a safe haven for asthmatics. The solid flooring does not trap in dust like carpets and they are relatively easy to vacuum. Hardwood floors greatly help any dusty asthma situation but remember that hardwood floors only minimize dust build up. To effectively vacuum hardwood flooring, try to use a vacuum that has a hardwood floor feature. This feature works by using brushes to lift up any dust in the cracks or between boards. Turning on this feature will allow your vacuum to suck up more asthma triggers then ever before. Areas such as upholstered furniture are usually neglected by asthmatics. Vacuuming and knowing how to properly vacuum these areas will make a big difference in your home. The fabrics used in couches or sofas act very similar to carpets which hold in different types of animal hairs, and dust. If possible, consider switching from fabric furniture to leather or vinyl. The trick to vacuuming fabrics is of course slow and steady and specialized brushes made to stir up and lift out dust. Remember to vacuum all cushions and pillows and they are just as guilty. After vacuuming furniture finish the job completely and vacuum underneath as well as behind. Curtains and drapes are frequently overlooked as areas at which dust can accumulate in. Vacuums are often to rough for curtains and drapes if so try to use a handheld vacuum cleaner or simply set your vacuum cleaner to a lower power. Certain curtains or drapes may be too fragile to be vacuumed, in these special cases I would highly recommend putting them through the washing machine to get rid of dust. If all else fails replace drapery and curtains with blinds which are a lot easier to clean. Blinds are relatively cheaper and are much easier to wash or clean. A neglected area which is often never vacuumed is the bedding area. Bedding area regards the mattress, bed sheets, pillow cases, and pillows. The bed is the most likely the most dust infested area in the entire household. A good way to clean sheets and fabric cases is to just run it though the washing machine. It is almost impossible to get rid of all dust build up in bedding, but a good way to stop dust mites from building up is to case the mattress and pillow in plastics. If you still feel and notice dust build up, wash pillows and sheets, or double sheet the mattress or pillows. Vacuuming is the only way asthmatics can fight off dust mites. Buy buying the right type of vacuum you can eliminate almost all dust and dirt build up. Remember to purchase vacuum cleaners that have different settings for power, brushes, and different materials. By reducing the amount of dust build up asthmatics can find a way to fight off asthma attacks without popping pills or taking too many medicines.
