Vaginia - Understanding its Purpose

The vaginia is the female organ that is internal and a vital part of sexual intercourse and reproduction. In medical terms is it a type of muscle as well as a canal that leads to the cervix. For a typical birth, this canal opens to allow the baby to emerge from the mother's body. Over time, this opening will be reduced back to its regular shape and size.

Many people confuse the vaginia with the vulva when it comes to the female anatomy. The difference is that the vulva is the outer part of the area, and it is outside of the body. The vaginia is located inside of the body and that is how you can distinctly tell them apart.

This is a part of the female body that many are embarrassed to talk about. However, it is a very natural part of understanding your body and being comfortable with it. Many women are embarrassed about the way this part of their bodies look. Some women feel that the opening to their vaginia is bigger than it should be. Others worry that theirs is too small so having sex or having a baby scares them.

The walls of the vaginia are very thin and very flexible though which allows them to open up when they need to. When a woman is sexually aroused the vaginia will open up wider to accept the male inside of her. This is why women that have been forced to engage in intercourse will often show signs of vaginal bruising.

It is very important for women to understand that the vaginia area is one that they need to pay close attention to. Annual exams need to be conducted to be sure the cells inside of the vaginia are healthy. Cancer can grow there and it if is undetected parts of the internal reproductive system may need to be surgically removed. If the cancer has continued to spread beyond those areas though a woman can die.

In addition to those annual checkups, women need to pay close attention to their vaginia. There is plenty of information out there about self breast exams but very little about the vaginal area. A woman needs to look for sores, bumps, and lumps. She also needs to let her doctor know if she has a rash, discharge, or the area is painful as there could be some type of infection present. Any time there is a colored discharge of a foul odor from the vaginia it needs to be looked at.

Keeping the vaginia area clean and healthy is very important for women to understand. Young girls need to be made aware of that before they even begin menstruating. Proper hygiene, self exams, and routine checkups will help ensure everything stays like it should be with this part of the female body.
