Veranda Decking - A Reliable Option For Decking Material

Veranda decking is a new material that can be used for building gazebos, patios or decks. This is a decking material with a reversible finish. With a combed finish on one side of the decking and a wood grain finish on the other, it proves to be quite a reliable material. It comes in three colors (gray, cedar and redwood) and it is not more expensive than other composite decking materials. If you want to make a construction with veranda decking, then you buy some railing in the same color and material.

For now, the only store that sells veranda decking is Home Depot, so you may compare here a comparison between prices of different composite decking materials. You can choose between three lengths for veranda decking, 8, 10 and 12 feet. The store also sells screws and you may want to go for the same color as your material you are going to use for your construction. Veranda decking material is considered a reliable option for decks that need to endure climate changes or other harsh conditions. The best thing is that its appearance holds well in time, even if it is subject to harsh weather conditions or heavy traffic.

After you make your construction you will see a little strange thing happening with your veranda decking material. The color will light up a bit, but you do not have to worry as this is not a defect, but only the result of direct exposure to sunlight. You must give it two to three months to get to the final color. After that, you will not remark any fading or lightening of the color of the material your construction is made of.

Another aspect of the veranda decking material is that it also has a mellowing period. During two or three months, some hues of tan or greenish will come off the material. Also you will notice some color variations in your material. This happens because the material is made from wood fibers and recycled plastic. But you cannot get your money back for the material as the warranty does not count for any color variations. You will notice these aspects if you buy the composite material at discount prices, but you must know that this does not mean that the material is defect in any way.

Because of these particularities, experts recommend that you buy all the material that you need for making your deck at the same time. Also, it is advisable to buy even more, so you can choose from it the parts that do not have so many color variations. This way, you will have a deck in one color, without the appearance to be ruined in some way. This is a serious advice experts in installing veranda decking are giving, because if you do purchase enough material for your construction, you may have quite a difficult time to find the same color in material, as manufacturers produce material with slightly difference in color.
