Vitamins for Hair Loss

Hair loss can be a concern for many people, whether they are men or women. Many people, when they feel that they may be suffering from more hair loss than is normal, start looking for vitamins for hair loss. Does a vitamin for hair loss exist? Yes, but depending on who is selling them and what is in them, they may or may not be helpful. If you are looking for vitamins for hair loss, you don't want to waste your money on something that isn't going to do you any good at all, so it's best to do some research before you buy.

What are the best vitamins for hair loss? There are some vitamins that will directly affect the hair, and some that will affect other body functions that, if they are in peak condition, will help with hair loss. For instance, biotin, one of the B vitamins, is directly good for the scalp and can help to stop hair loss. Other of the B vitamins such as B12 and B6 help with stress, and this can indirectly affect hair loss. Stress can cause many problems with the body, including hair loss, so it stands to reason that your daily vitamins for hair loss should include all of the B vitamins.

Vitamins that work for overall health can be considered vitamins for hair loss. The reason is because so many aspects of your health can affect how well your hair grows and whether or not you lose a normal amount of hair each day or more then you should. You should eat a balanced diet each day that contains nutritious foods, and you should take a multi-vitamin and multi-mineral supplement each day to ensure that you are getting the nutrients that you need. On top of this, you can take vitamins that are known to help with hair loss.

If you visit a regular medical doctor to talk about vitamins for hair loss, you may not get a lot of information. Though most doctors do say that vitamins are good for you, they deal more in pharmaceuticals than natural substances, and might not be able to tell you what will work best. If you visit a naturopathic doctor, you might get better information about what kinds of vitamins and minerals to take for hair loss, and he may even be able to formulate something for you especially for helping with your hair loss.
