You want to get a good sized bottle of quality vodka as well. You don't want too large of a bottle though or it will be too much for a single watermelon. You need to cut out a portion of the skin of the watermelon so that you can invert the vodka bottle and insert it into the fruit. Since it can take as long as a week for the watermelon to absorb all of the vodka in that bottle you certainly need to make sure you plan well in advance. You do need to keep a good eye on the process each day. Sometimes a tight vacuum can form due to air. Then no more vodka will find its way into the watermelon. You may have to pull the top of the bottle part way out and then place it back in. You may find a funnel is an easier option for pouring small amounts of the vodka into the watermelon as well. Experiment so you that you can find what will work well for you. Once you notice that all of the vodka has been absorbed you can remove the bottle. You can then cut up the watermelon into chunks. You can also use a melon baller to get them into round pieces. It will taste best if the watermelon is cold. You can keep it cool during the process of absorbing the vodka. You can also choose to only refrigerate the fruit after you have cut it. Those that you share vodka watermelon with will certainly enjoy it. However, it is also very important that you make it known there is alcohol in it. Watermelon is very appealing to people of all ages, so you don't want to open up the door for younger people that shouldn't have alcohol tasting this delicious treat. You also don't want to risk those that consume it suffering from alcohol poisoning due to consuming too much of it. Offering vodka watermelon is a great way to liven up any party you attend with other adults. This is especially true during the warmer parts of the year when people simply find it refreshing to consume such fresh fruits.
