Vonnage - The Cheaper Alternative
|
Competition among regular phone companies brought prices down, and the emergence of 10-10 long distance service companies brought long distance service down even more. Then along came Vonnage, which was a complete turning point in phone service history. This service didn't go through regular phone lines, but rather worked through Internet lines. Suddenly, instead of people having to pay a certain amount per minute for every long distance call, Vonnage charged one low price each month for regular phone service and unlimited long distance. There are pros and cons to using Vonnage, although all in all, there are more pros. Since it works through your cable, DSL, or fiber optic Internet, you do have to have that type of service. That's not really much of a problem these days, since most people have Internet service and the number of people who use cable, DSL, or fiber optic Internet is growing exponentially. In fact, enough people are able to take advantage of this new phone service to make it very lucrative for the company. It's good to remember, though, that if your power or your cable, DSL, or fiber optic is out; your phone service will be too. The savings that you see each year by using Vonnage phone service is usually more than enough to make up for any inconveniences if you lose power or your cable, DSL, or fiber optic service goes out temporarily. These things don't happen very often, so it's really not that frustrating. On the whole, most people who sign up for this phone service are glad that they did, and they continue to use it year after year. In the big picture, this phone service is a huge savings over the old type of phone service, and is even a better deal than cellular service. About The Author: |
