Dryers can be just as important as washers, especially if you have a large family, you should definitely consider buying a dryer. However, if you live by yourself or with someone, you may want to ask them and yourself how much you will use the dryer. Also, consider the type of clothes you have and if they suitable for the dryer? Dryers are great for families because it saves the hassle of hanging up the large load of clothes. It also makes the clothes softer for your children to wear. Think about all the clothes you have to wash and think about all the time you will save by just throwing them in the dryer! A dryer essentially spins and blow dries the clothes with hot air. There are two types of dryers, electric and gas. If you are keen on saving energy, you may want to consider buying a gas dryer; although, it costs more, you save about thirty cents for one load. Before you buy the gas dryer, see if your dryer location has a gas hookup, if it doesn’t, go for an electric dryer. Make sure your dryer has the twice the capacity as your washer. I highly suggest looking at the cubic foot measurements instead of “large” or “extra large”, this way it is more accurate and you won’t come home with a dryer that has a smaller load than your washer load. For example, you buy a 3.3 cu washer, but a 7 cu dryer because the clothes need more room to dry faster. Buying a larger capacity size has its advantages, your clothes dry faster because there is more space; therefore, you save money on your energy bills. Your clothes are going to look better and last longer when you use different temperature settings on your dryer. There are settings available, such as ‘permanent press’, ‘more dry’, ‘cotton’, and ‘less dry’ that are specially designed for different fabrics. To prevent wrinkles in your clothes, cool-down cycles keep the dry clothes spinning for a period of time. The controls of a dryer now have gone digital! You are able to preset your favorite drying times. If you are not comfortable with digital, there are manual dials or push buttons. Don’t you just hate it when you can’t find the other sock after you are done washing your clothes, but they are really stuck in the back of the dryer, the drum light accessory will make it easier for you to find the missing sock. A noisy dryer cannot be your best friend, look for a dryer is with more insulation and frames. For your clothes to last longer and easier to iron, moisture sensors are great for stopping the dryer when it gets overheated. Lint can be such a hassle and can cause your potential fires in your home, I highly recommend lint filters. Most of the newer and more expensive models have sensors that will warn you when the lint filter is full or blocked. This is an excellent feature to have and it reduces the chance of dryer hazards greatly. Drying racks are awesome when you have active kids or you yourself are active. You can clean those smelly shoes and then pop them in the dryer to dry. Drying racks will not ruin the structure and shape of your shoe. The rack basically sits on the bottom of the dryer, while the shoes on top of the rack. Drying racks can be also used for shirts that you don’t want to wrinkle, just lay it flat on the drying rack and the dryer will do the rest. It can also be used for bulkier and heavier clothes, the drying rack and the dryer will dry those garments faster. Since dryers have a long life expectancy, you should really consider investing your money in a good quality dryer that will last you a very long time. Dryers are very useful for rainy days, and just in general to make your clothes smell fresh and feel unbelievably soft. You should also think about the size of your family, is it going to grow? If it is, estimate the size of the dryer now, so you don’t have to purchase another dryer in the future. Dryers can are very useful, having a dryer will increase your productivity and give you time doing other things around the house.
