What Does Cell Phone Surveillance Really Do?
|
Your cell phone is no longer a simple cell phone. Like in James Bond movies, it can turn into a professional tracking device, just by asking for a certain feature to your network provider. But watching someone without their approval is illegal, no matter if conversations are being listened to, the location of the speaker is identified, or the destination of a call is being revealed. Even if, in normal conditions, a courts order is necessary so you can use cell phone surveillance to pursue someone, many people use it illegally. The reasons to fear that cell phone surveillance can lead to serious abuses are very much understandable. There was not only one case when a divorced spouse followed the other everywhere, making them feel insecure and in life threatening situations all the time. The need of controlling excessively another human being not once led to murders or intentions of murder, so the controversy concerning cell phone surveillance is not without reason. There were situations when a person that had been followed for several months, after complaining to the police, finally found a cell phone GPS system installed in their car, which was the means through which the perpetrator had been tracking them down. If you ask how this can be possible, the answer is: rather simple. A cell phone with an integrated GPS can be installed in a way that it will drag its power from the car battery, and, with the cell phone set on mute, any call can be made without the owner of the car suspecting anything. This happens when a cell phone surveillance system is illegally installed in your car. But, also, your personal cell phone can be turned against you, if someone gets a hold of it for a little time, enough to register your phone with a service that offers GPS surveillance. You will not even know what happened, and that person will know where you are all the time. If that person is also smart enough to erase the messages sent by the service to notify the owner of the phone that the machine is being tracked down. Not only cell phones can be integrated with surveillance mechanisms; almost any portable device can be used with GPS, which means that it is quite easy to track someone down without them even knowing it. There are watches with GPS surveillance integrated, or other electronic gadgets. Still, the abuses that can occur are not to be ignored, and measures should be taken before more unwanted events take place. As the integrated software for cell phone surveillance does not have any warnings regarding the legality of this practice. About The Author: Balva Rudick is the Editor and Publisher of Article Click.
