What Is Body’s pH?

You may have heard about pH, as it is important as life itself, but what people think about this matter?

Women mostly think about pH as being important for hair care in order to maintain and have a fuller and stronger head of hair. Men, on the other part, care less about matters like hair maintenance, but they sure know about pH levels of water. A man that enjoys swimming will check the pH level of the water in the pool.

Imagine you have a fish tank and one day, when you get home, you find them all dead. What is the solution? Get rid of the dead fish and buy a cat instead? Buy others and hope that they will live longer?

So, what do you do?

First step is to clean the tank and replace the water. Where is the analogy with your body, you may ask? Imagine that the water the fish live in is like your blood and the fish are your cells and organs. Every day, we receive into our bodies toxins and acids coming from smoking, drugs, acid producing foods like dairy, sodas, coffee, sugar and animal proteins. If your intake of these foods is too high, your internal balance of alkaline fluids is compromised.

When the pH in your body becomes chronically over acidic, it will corrode the body tissues. This affects all cellular activities and functions, including heart and brain activity. The acidic pH will affect your veins and arteries like acid that eats through marble. In conclusion, sickness and diseases are often the result of over acidification.

Prevention

An important number for our bodies is the temperature. We must understand its importance because an increase temperature of the body, only with 4-6 degrees leads to sickness and, if not treated, even to death.

We also must take into consideration another important number for our bodies: the pH level. A healthy person has a pH with 7.356 level. On a scale of 0-14, pH varies from “0” being total acid and “14” being total alkaline. Both values are fatal for the human body.

Definition

pH measures the hydrogen ions and their bond. When they are less bond to each other, the outcome is a more acidic water – with a lower pH, while decreased hydrogen ions translate into a pH rise.

pH stands for power of hydrogen.

The scale for measuring pH goes from 0 to 14. In the middle, at value 7, we have the neutral value. Under 7, they are acidic, like a car battery, and above 7, they are basic, like a dish soap.

To understand what pH variations means, we must know that pH has a logarithmic function, meaning ten fold. When pH drops from 7 to 6, we have 10 times more acidic water, and a drop of 5 represents a 100 times more acidic water.

The optimal pH level for our body is 7.365. So it does not sound very difficult. To know if there is something wrong with your pH level, ask yourself if you are satisfied with your look or if you feel that you are aging too fast. You will know then if you must focus on a change in your life.

If you decide that you are no longer satisfied with your looks and with your health, then you must get to work. Be determined to become what you desire to be.

First you must find out what your pH level is. To do that, go to the local drug store or the health food store and buy pH strips. Make tests in the morning on an empty stomach so you can get accurate results. Then, try to follow an alkaline diet. You are not forced to change your way of eating overnight. Start by buying green foods and green supplements and introduce them slowly in your diet. Recommended foods are: asparagus, spinach, celery, cauliflower, soy sprouts, carrots, high protein lentils, tofu and almonds. You will not even realize when you start craving for them.

I tried this alkaline diet. Three months I ate green and alkaline foods and I consumed an outstanding green drink product called Supergreens produced by Innerlight. After following this diet, I felt younger and stronger. Also, I developed better tone and muscle than I had when I was taking a typical bodybuilding diet. You must keep in mind that having a healthy, energetic body is the key to success in life. If you want to be a better person, concentrate on yourself to become that person.
