Just like humans, there are things a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel needs in order to grow healthy as well as happy. While fashionable clothes and elaborate collars are a great way to pamper your precious pooch, bear in mind that these things come after the most important - healthy diet, regular exercise, proper grooming and care and more importantly, love and attention. Healthy Diet. Naturally, food is very important for the survival of every living things. Feed your dog not just with whatever-you-come across dog food, but rather choose a high quality dog food. The one that contains the right combination of fats, carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and minerals. Either you prefer to prepare your dog's food or settle for the convenience of commercial dog foods, it doesn't really matter provided it contains every ingredient a dog needs in order to grow healthy and happy. Choose fresh ingredients when preparing homemade dog food. On the other hand, when you decided to feed readily available dog foods, read product labels carefully. Lamb, chicken, fish, venison or egg should be the first ingredients since they have a high percentage of protein. Regular Exercise. Regular exercise is important to dogs as it is to you. One easiest way to keep your pet fit is through walking. This form of exercise benefits not just your dog's health but yours as well. A 15-minute walk around the nearby park or your neighborhood is a great way to start your day. Playing fetch and swimming are also ways to keep your dog fit. Just monitor them closely during the activity for signs of problems such as dehydration or changes in breathing or gait and what form of exercise is best for your pooch, consider your veterinarian's advice. Proper Grooming and Care. Who says grooming is necessary to make your pet look good? Proper grooming is necessary not just for the sole purpose of making your dog good looking but to maintain the health as well. Grooming and bathing ensures healthy skin and shiny coat free from fleas, ticks and other foreign objects. Issues related to eyes, ears and mouth can as well be addressed immediately if not avoided through regular grooming. Love and Attention. Lack of attention and love can make your dog lonely and aggressive. Praise, pat in the back or more time to play are some ways to show love to your dog.
