If you know what tips to follow, designing your own business cards can be fun and easy. We're going to review some ways to create an effective card. Business cards may not look like much, but they are one of your most powerful business tools. When creating a business card, you need to decide on your message and your audience. People often try to put too much information on their cards at first. This may not accomplish what you want, however. A business card is another form of advertising, and you need to think of it in terms of your audience and your message. In most cases, people use their cards to give their contact details to a client. There are other possibilities, however. For example, you might want to give information about your overall business. If you have an online business, instead of a physical address, provide phone numbers, email address, and URLs. Most people find that a simple card is the best card. Another distinct advantage to printing cards yourself is the ability to print small batches to meet your individual needs. It is recommended that business cards at least have an individual's name, as well as the company's name, if applicable. Here are some additional card elements that you may want to include: Address - Although most people put their address on their cards, this may not make sense if your business is entirely online. If your customers do not come to a physical office, you may want to include different information. Contact Methods - You can include any and all phone numbers, email addresses, and other contact information. If you do not want to be contacted in a particular way, don't include that information. Web URLs - If you have a web-based business, these are crucial, as is your email contact information. It is easy to send clients to your website, allowing you to put less on the card. Job Title - This is optional, but is a good idea if you want to identify different roles in the company or give the appearance of a large, thriving company. Logo - A memorable logo will help clients remember your company, create a business identity, and increase brand loyalty. Your logo may not work well on a business card, however. One way to handle this would be to use the logo as a background image or use a bleed to make the logo run past the edge. You might also omit your logo but use the logo’s colors on your card. Tagline - This can be very useful when your company name does not make it clear what products or services you provide. A memorable tagline will tell your clients what you do. Once you have created a design, you can choose the card stock to print on. If you are designing a card with graphic elements, remember that this will reduce the space for text on your card. You can find pre-printed cards in lots of different designs and colors: anything from a floral design to your company's logo. You should choose a design that clients will associate with your business. Consider what impression you want to make, whether it be casual and fun or more business-like and professional. Keeping your message clear and concise will work best. You may not think a business card is a very big deal, but they can work very hard for you. Make the best business cards that you can and use them strategically.
