There are a few items that you need in order to be able to scuba dive: wetsuits, regulators, fins, snorkels and so on. We will have a look at the essential scuba diving equipment beginning with the wetsuit. The modern wetsuits are made out of revolutionary space age materials, such as the 4 way stretch neoprene. Such a fabric may stretch up to 250 percent of its original size, giving the diver an enormous advantage while swimming. The scuba diving wet suit is meant to protect your skin from various outside factors and to ensure that your body temperature stays balanced during your dive. The regulators help your lungs process the oxygen from the air tank. Most of the modern ones are pneumatically balanced and highly adjustable, so that the diver's comfort is maximized. The best regulators are those that imply the lowest breathing effort. Many have assisted deflector vanes that enable you to set the airflow from the valve straight to the mouthpiece. You can prevent regulator free flow while getting ready for the scuba dive, which is also known as the pre-dive moment. The snorkel is another accessory that can enhance your scuba diving experience. Good snorkels now come equipped with technology that doesn't allow water to enter at the surface, protecting you from any potential undersea dangers. Air clearing is also vital with a snorkel and a one-way purge valve can enable the diver to effortlessly breathe in. If you are not going to buy a scuba diving package, make sure that your snorkel fits with the facemask and that it has an adjustable snorkel retainer mechanism. It is the most important accessory in scuba diving because it allows you to breathe under water. Fins are next on our list of items that you need to scuba dive. Their main role is for propulsion and underwater control, so do not neglect this important element, as it will determine your mobility. Fins allow you to freely move in whatever direction you wish under water. Performance fins, as compared to regular ones, are designed with channel technology that makes water push through the end of the fin, thus giving you more propulsion. Performance fins are more expensive compared to normal fins, if you are just beginning to scuba dive, it is best to start off with normal fins. Scuba diving actually has a few essential accessories you will need, such as fins, wetsuits, regulators, snorkels, and a few other minor accessories you may want to consider buying. If you do not want to worry too much about compatibility between items you can opt for a package, which usually contains all of the above-mentioned products. While packages offer better compatibility and often come at a better price, you won't be able to choose the different items contained in the mix - a disadvantage that beginners will never notice.
