Hollywood celebrities team up with big-name NFL legends to bring you flag football as you have never seen it before. You will be laughing and cheering until your sides ache. Remember flag football from middle school gym class? Racing after each other trying to grab the flags but no tackling! There will be some bump and run with the Celebrity Beach bowl, though, because those guys just can not resist a little reminder about who is the bigger dog on the field! As an out-of-the-ordinary treat this year, DirecTV adds one special player to the Third Annual Celebrity Beach Bowl: the Ultimate Displaced Fan. Almost three thousand NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers recently entered the Ultimate Displaced Fan contest to choose the most die-hard football fan in the nation. These fans could only watch their home team through their DirecTV Sunday Ticket subscription, so they truly are die-hard fans. Each one sent videos, essays, and photographs proving how much they love their teams. One lucky winner scored a spot in the Celebrity Beach Bowl, a trip for two to the next Super Bowl, and one-on-one meetings with NFL football stars. Last year, the 101 Network had edge-of-your-seat competition featuring the NASCAR HotPass team against the NFL Sunday Ticket team, led by Warren Moon and Doug Flutie, respectively. The NFL Sunday Ticket team just squeaked in a win with a score of 20-19. This year's competition will be looking for a little revenge! This could prove to be almost as fun as the Super Bowl itself. The Third Annual Celebrity Beach Bowl is sponsored by SPIKE HD, and airs on January 31 starting with the pre-game show at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time and ending with a no-holds-barred post-game concert starting at 2:30 p.m. Eastern time. This will provide a great afternoon of entertainment to put you in the mood for the Super Bowl.
