Whirlpool Dishwashers Continue to Deliver

When Whirlpool began in 1911, its first home appliance was a motor driven wringer washing machine. At that time the company was called Upton Machine Company. In the 1950's, the name changed to Whirlpool and they were making dryers, washers, refrigerators, stoves, and air conditioners. By the 1980's the expansion led to buying KitchenAid and Roper brands. Their most recent acquisition is the Maytag brand. Whirlpool dishwashers are still one of the leading brands in the United States offering eight under counter models and two portable models of dishwashers.

The under counter models vary in price from $249 to $699 suggested retail price. All eight of the built-in models are EnergyStar qualified for maximum efficiency in water use and energy consumption. The most basic model of Whirlpool built-in dishwashers features a 3-level wash system with 4 wash cycles and 3 options including high-temp boost, no heat dry, and 3-hour delay settings. It will hold a large load and comes in 5 color options.

The next model upgrades to an extra-large load capacity with a silverware basket that can be attached to the door to allow more room on the racks. This $299 model has 5 wash levels with 5 cycles and 4 options. It upgrades to the PowerClean System and has an enhanced sound reduction package. The delay option can be set at a 2, 4, or 6-hour delay.

The next model retails at $379 with a super load capacity of a 14 place setting. It has the same performance features, but adds flexibility in loading with the addition of folding tines.

For another few dollars, you can upgrade to a Whirlpool dishwasher with an automatic purge filtration system, as soak and scour option, and an automatic soil sensor. The sound reduction package steps up to the Quiet Partner II package. It still performs well with 5 wash levels and 4 cycles, but it adds more options for a total of six. This model was rated as Best Buy and retails for $449.

If you have tall dishes or pans, you will want the Whirlpool GU2400XTP that has the tall tub. This model can soak and scour the dirtiest pans or delicately clean fragile glassware. Performance meets the previous high standards but adds loading flexibility with adjustable racks, flipping plate holders, folding tines, and cup shelves. This model usually retails around $499.

The top three models range from T9 to $699. The first has all the performance included in the previous models but adds more loading options with a removable top rack. The second top model adds concealed controls. The ultimate Whirlpool model has all of these wonderful features plus a stainless steel tub.

Whirlpool also offers two portable dishwashers, both with EnergyStar ratings. The first model is a 24-inch white model that can hold a 12 place setting. With a PowerClean system, it has five wash levels and five wash cycles including settings for pots and pans, china, and sanitizing rinse. It can have custom panels. It also has a self-cleaning filter and a 2, 4, 6-hour delay setting. This portable dishwasher has the basic sound reduction package. The second portable Whirlpool dishwasher has 3 levels of wash and a sound blanket. It holds a 10 place setting and can wash pots and pans. It comes in black but can have a custom panel. This model is priced at $398 while the first retails for $498.

Trusting Whirlpool dishwashers is not difficult. This well-known brand has served the American public faithfully for many years. Choosing one of the Whirlpool dishwashers will offer you a multitude of options with a standard high quality performance.
