Why I love my King Size Platform Bed

Before I got married I owned a queen size Sealy Posterpedic mattress. It was actually my first mattress I ever bought. Since this was my first mattress I got hit with a huge sticker shock. The salesman convinced me that the mattress is the second most important purchase you will ever make in your life. So he got me to pull out the old credit card. Price tag was well over $1000 for both mattress and box springs, boy was I surprised. The funny way these stores advertise is that the price of the mattress may sound like a good deal, but what they don't tell you is that you must purchase the box spring also! So if you're purchasing a mattress keep in mind that the price will probably double since you have to purchase the box spring.

So now let's fast forward to 8 years later. Guess what, I still have the Sealy Posterpedic mattress. But this time I got married and the wife wanted to upgrade my mattress. She said the Queen size mattress is not big enough. We needed a king size bed. At first, I was not liking the idea of making another mattress purchase. Remembering the price of mattress 8 years ago was very high and I was not in a hurry to spend another $1000 on a mattress set. Additionally, I knew it was going to be even higher because it'll be a king size bed.

Then I found out the wonderful world of platform beds. I never understood or knew what a platform bed was. These are basically beds that have a solid surface that doesn't require a box spring. That's when the yellow light came up in my head. I can purchase a new King Size Platform Bed that'll have a much lower price than a traditional bed.

So this is what I got. I purchased a real nice memory foam mattress and got a really nice king size platform bed. This platform bed had really nice storage drawers and shelf system. All this for less than $900 dollars, It was a great bargain.

In conclusion if you ever decide to purchase a bed. Then my suggestion is for you to check out platform beds at your local furniture store. I promise that you will be completely satisfied. It is space effiecient, beautiful, cost effective, and not to mention helps improve you quality of life. Sleeping on your bed is what you do for nearly half your lifetime. Why not make it the best bed you ever can sleep on.
