Why Use Fertilizer Spikes

There are many different types of fertilizers on the market to help keep your plants looking great. But one of the most convenient and cost effective to use are fertilizer spikes.

These spikes are available for many different types of flowers, trees, and even vegetables. Each type is specific to the plant you are feeding it to which means your plant is getting the nutrients it needs.

The sticks have a track record for providing faster growth. Those sticks designed for trees green things up very quickly and the sticks designed for flowers encourage more blooms faster. The sticks for fruit trees help increase the quantity of fruit.

Besides the advantage of cost spikes have other advantages such as the slow release of fertilizer in a controlled environment. No burning occurs because a small amount is released regularly but there is no large release which could damage the plant.

Slow release also means that the nutrients and fertilizer isn't leached away so it won't go to waster. How long a spike is good for depends on the spike but some last as much as a year. Now that's pretty impressive!

The fertilizer spikes are also popular with people who would normally not bother to fertilize otherwise. That's because they are so darn convenient. No muss, no fuss - just place the stick into the ground and it will do all the work itself. Here's how to place it:

1. Place the plastic cap on top of the spike.2. At a 45 degree angle place the spike into the ground. If you are using tree spikes place along the drip line. You may need a hammer.3. Place spikes for plants 12 inches apart and spikes for larger trees as much as 3 feet apart.4. Remove the plastic cap and store.5. Let the spike do its thing providing nutrients to your plants.

If you want your lawn to be lush and green, your flowers to have increased blooms, and your gardens to produce delicious vegetables then it is time to add fertilizer spikes to your maintenance schedule. Cost effective and convenient!
