And for work at home parents , you probably have added desire and drive to really make a web based business work for you. After all, to be able to be there for your kids growing up is a fantastic thing. Now , there are obviously many work at home opportunities that you could turn your hand to as work at home parents. From things like stuffing envelopes, to taking surveys, to outsourced call center work. Obviously the right option for you will depend on you and what you enjoy spending your time doing and what you have a talent for. But as my history is in web design and internet marketing, let's talk about that. And within that "internet business" field there are a lot of opportunities, a lot of different ways to make money, and a lot of different directions that you could take. But I'm not here to muddy the waters even further for you. Rather we hope to cut through some of the clutter and help you to build a business that puts you, your interests, your passion and creativity and your unique abilities right at the heart of your business. Sounds impossible right. taking what you already know and love and using that to create a fantastic, profitable online business. And it doesn't matter what that unique area of experience or enthusiasm may be. Placing yourself as an expert in your given area and sharing your knowledge with the world. This is how we recommend building an internet business. Not by getting online and chasing after the latest get rich quick opportunities. Because you will come across endless amounts of them. And every one will claim to be THE one that can help you achieve your dreams. So by the time you've spent a year jumping from one to the next, you're tired, broke and despondent. But that is not necessarily the way that it has to be. Wouldn't it be more fun, as work at home parents, to build a business that you get up in the morning looking forward to doing. That is built around you, and your individual passions and expertise. That builds a successful living and grows steadily. It can be done. Begin by thinking about different options for your business. Areas where you have some experience, knowledge or passion. Don't worry about the commercial potential at this point, that comes next. Once you've got all your possibilities, then start researching them. Have a look for possible partnerships with affiliates where you can promote their products for them, there are loads of affiliate networks to choose from. Go on the sites of the main companies in your industry and see if they have products that you can promote as an affiliate. Even ring them up. Or maybe you have a product or service to sell yourself. Go to google, check your competition, who are they, what are they selling ? List all of the words you would type into a search engine if you were looking for your product or company. What other companies are already there and what are they offering? Go to the google keyword tool and see how many people per month are searching for those keywords, is it worth building a business in that market, are the potential customers there ? This is just some very basic research but doing it well and making good decisions now can save you years of wasted effort and frustration. You'd be amazed how many people don't bother, they just get an idea and jump in. We see them at our company Wonderweb everyday. This is by far the most vital piece of work you will ever do on your internet business. Make it as easy as possible to succeed by creating a business around you and placing the tools around that. You'll make more money, and enjoy yourself a lot more.
