YTB International: Is YTB A Legitimate Home Based Business
|
YTB International is a travel company that provides web based booking services for several travel agencies and independent home based business representatives. YTB came into existence back in 2001. Every year according to their records on their website, revenue, sales, and new reps joining have increased. You can currently market YTB in Canada, the US, Bahamas, and Bermuda. The company's primary attention is on providing travel and travel products. Then they focus on selling travel websites second. Before May 2009, it would cost $449 for a one time setup fee for your sites and $49.95 monthly to have corporate replicated websites that book your traveling and then another corporate replicated site that does your marketing. Of course you get the normal marketing, training, and back office access that all MLM companies have. Because of a lawsuit against YTB International they have done away with the ridiculous $449. Since the emergence of the lawsuit YTB is now switching from a referral based travel agent biz to a franchise operating system. The payout or comp plan is a bit confusing. I must say that although they focus on selling travel, they don't earn commissions on airfare bookings because the airline industry stopped paying. When its all boiled down honestly with YTB they have similar payouts as other MLM companies (more on that later). My questions or rather dislikes about YTB are: 1. More people travel by air but you don't get paid on airfare sales. 2. Your focus is on sending traffic to a company replicated travel website, but no internet marketing is taught to the reps. So how will the traffic get there? 3. MLM and direct sales is just plagued honestly with too many travel companies. People don't care about helping you out in MLM if they can get a better deal somewhere else. 4. $2,679 was what the average YTB rep earned in 2008. What is the company's plans to empower reps to make more money? Is there any marketing training available that works in the internet age? 5. As much as you may want too, its hard to turn a blind eye to the lawsuits that they SETTLED on. Amidst the legal issues YTB is still a viable MLM company. I chose not to join this travel company for the simple fact its way too many in MLM that offer the same thing. I quit doing MLM all together because I got frustrated and tired of working long hours to build a business only to see minimal payout. I joined a community of entrepreneurs that is really an educational platform for internet marketers. Since then I've become a master internet marketer who doesn't face rejection at all, have the mobility to move around wherever I choose and still work and havefun, and spend quality time with my family without worrying if my business is going to suffer. About The Author: Adrian Hines has touched lightly on the legal issues YTB International has faced in this review. The whole purpose is to have would be reps evaluate if this is a great fit for them or if there is a better YTB alternative. |
