Freedom That Many Americans Take for Granted

Freedom is a word that is often associated with the United States of America. Freedom is something that many historic individuals and groups worked hard for to ensure that we have it today. Freedom is what allows a large number of individuals to be what and where they are in this very moment.

The word freedom encompasses a large number of philosophies and beliefs. Americans are better individuals today because they can often express themselves with out feeling threatened or being prosecuted.

When an individuals thinks of the word freedom the Constitution is something that comes to mind. The Constitution was developed as a set of laws and guidelines that all Americans and government officials should follow. The Constitution not only details the freedom that all Americans have, but it help to prevent those freedoms from being taken away.

All Americans are given the right to free speech. Free speak is a large and highly controversial issue that deals with the freedom that Americans are entitled to. The freedom of speech is often used to offer politicians, churches, and reporters the ability to say, preach, or write about a topic that they believe in.

Although the Constitution states that individuals are entitled to speak their mind without penalty there are some statements or phrases that may be consider slander or damaging to another person’s character. These statements are illegal and may even be punishable by law in some areas.

In addition to free speech Americans are given political freedom. In the world of politics there are a large number of individuals who have different views and beliefs. The United States allows a large number of government officials to be elected by the general public. Voters are able to use their freedom to select and vote for the government officials of their choice.

Political freedom is important because it helps to keep the local, state, and federal governments running smoothly. Citizens are not pressured to make a specific selection and they can vote for any candidate that they choose to. Americans also have the freedom not to vote if they wish to do so.

The term freedom is also used and associated with incarnation or prison. The United States justice system works in a way where all men and when are presumed innocent until proven guilty. If an individual is suspected of a crime they are often given a trial where other American citizens determine their fate.

There are certain rules and regulations that must be followed when an individual is being accused or is on trial for a specific crime. The justice system is used to help keep a large number of innocent individuals free and out of prison.

Unfortunately freedom is something that many individuals take for granted. There are still a number of cultures that prevent citizens from voting or speaking their mind without being punished. Many Americans are so used to their freedom that they often forgot how precious it really is.
